Interesting way to feed seagulls

This family appeared to be having a meal of fish and chips by the side of the road in Thompson St, Drummoyne, when someone decided to feed the seagulls.

The way that was done was not to throw a few chips onto the grass.  Instead, they threw all the food and rubbish from the meal onto the grass, and let the birds pick through it.

I left before they had finished, so I don't know if they cleaned up after themselves or not.  Given the state of the parking spots near parks like this, where people just toss rubbish out their car window instead of walking 10 feet to a bin, you'd have to wonder.
