The following series of photos were taken within the area bounded by the yellow square below - around the pedestrian overpass crossing the City West Link in Lilyfield.
The noise barrier as it was today - clean as a whistle.
I am not sure who owns this green box, but at least this one has a number on it that I can try calling to see who answers the phone.
This is how the pedestrian bridge looked in January this year - a right mess.
This is how it looked today after several re-paintings. This whole area for at least 100 metres in every direction is hard hit by graffiti, so this overpass needs repainting really regularly. The local vandals are quite industrious. What I have noticed though is that each time this area is repainted by the RTA, less and less graffiti comes back each time. Regular repaints are working, although it's a tedious business.
There appears to be some sort of graffiti war going on here - note how the tag in the yellow box has been crossed out by someone else. A nasty sign of disrespect.
More crossing out of tags. Someone doesn't like someone else.
Someone is really upset with another vandal.
Not even the trees are safe from graffiti. Note the spray cans on the ground.
In the photo below, you can see that the handrail, two trees and even the concrete footpath have been tagged. The vandals around here will tag anything that isn't moving.
Potty mouth. The best thing about this is that the RTA has a policy of cleaning offensive graffiti much more quickly than regular graffiti, so once I tell them about it, it should be removed faster than normal.
Another empty spray can.
More cans, and a pile of rubbish alongside the railway corridor that needs removing.

Another tagged tree, and a spray can, and an intriguing path running down the side of the fence along the railway corridor. I didn't follow it, but I reckon it's the vandal highway for the parts roundabout.
A local gang perhaps? The Leichhardt Boyz?
This sign by R&W Leichhardt has only recently gone up, and it didn't take long for it to be thoroughly trashed. I've emailed the R&W office about it. Whoever takes up this property is going to have some lovely neighbours. Not.
I first wrote to RailCorp about this bridge back on 13 May. Nothing has changed since then. It's still covered in graffiti. I guess I will have to chase them and ask when they intend to clean it up.
